Indians Vs. Rangers Game Preview: P Jeanmar Gomez Has Quality Experience Against Texas

The Indians, losers of 15 of their last 16 games, have some good news in preparation for their 7:05 p.m. ET game against AL West-leading Texas Saturday.

Their starting pitcher, Jeanmar Gomez, threw seven innings and allowed three runs against the Rangers in a 6-3 Cleveland win May 4.

Gomez went 1-5 with a 7.92 ERA in six starts from late May to June 23, resulting in a trip to the minors, but at least he's had some previous success against the offensive-heavy Rangers.

That quality start is something Cleveland (55-77) didn't see much of in August.

The Rangers (78-53) won the first of a three-game series Friday, topping host Cleveland 5-3. It was their 24th loss in the month, setting a team record.

The Indians will face struggling Rangers starter Scott Feldman, who was roughed up for six runs and 10 hits against Minnesota in his last start.
