Asdrubal Cabrera has been out of the Indians' lineup for the last several games, and it looks as if he's set to miss the three-game set between the Indians and Rangers. Indians' manager Manny Acta had the following to say on Monday via Ohio.com:
He had X-rays yesterday. He also got checked by their (Twins) team doctor and everything looked normal. We’ll give him another day and see. I’m not putting him out there until he’s ready.
Cabrera is hitting .267 on the season with 14 homeruns, and he's been replaced in the lineup for the last three games by Brent Lillibridge. Lillibridge is batting a modest .194 on the season where he's been a part of three different clubs, and he's only managed three homeruns.
While unlikely to play, Acta has said that Cabrera could be used as a defensive replacement in this series should the need arise. The Rangers won the first game of the series 6-4 on Tuesday.
