After ending a six-game losing streak last night, the Cleveland Indians try to win their second straight over the Texas Rangers at 1:05 p.m. today. Cleveland has not won two straight games since Aug. 8-9 over the Minnesota Twins.
Zach McAllister (5-5, 3.82 ERA) starts for the Indians. McAllister is coming off his second-shortest outing of the season, allowing five earned runs in 4.1 innings in a 7-0 loss to Oakland on Aug. 28. This will be the first time McAllister has faced the Rangers in his career.
Derek Holland (9-6, 4.90 ERA) starts for the Rangers. Holland allowed one earned run in 7.1 innings in a win over the Indians on May 5. He's 2-0 with a 2.16 ERA in four career games against Cleveland.
The Indians announced before the game that they've called up relief pitcher Frank Herrmann:
