Sandy Alomar will make his managerial debut on Friday for the Cleveland Indians as they host the Kansas City Royals in the opener a meaningless three-game series at Progressive Field.
Outfielder Russ Canzler, who is in the midst of an 8-for-16 stretch, will bat fifth for the Indians. They'll go up against Will Smith (6-8, 4.88 ERA), who has allowed four runs and 12 hits in 13 innings against Cleveland this season, across two starts. He is 2-0 in those games.
