After going winless in his first six starts of the season, Cleveland Indians pitcher Corey Kluber (1-3, 4.79 ERA) will look for his second consecutive win in today's game against the Minnesota Twins at 1:10 p.m.
Kluber picked up a win over Detroit on Sept. 3, giving up two runs in six innings and striking out four. He has pitched against the Twins once this season, getting a no-decision after giving up 3 runs (1 earned) in a 7-5 Minnesota win Aug. 7.
The Twins counter with Esmerling Vasquez (0-1, 7.94 ERA), who is making his second start of the season. He gave up 5 runs, 7 hits and 3 walks in 5.2 innings in a loss to Kansas City Sept. 2.
The teams have split the first two games of a four-game series. Minnesota shut out the Indians 3-0 on Friday. Wins by Minnesota in the final two games of the series would put the teams in a tie for last place in the AL Central Standings.
