Blue Jackets Vs. Oilers Final Score: Columbus Collapses In Third Period, Loses 6-3

Up 2-1 after two periods, the Columbus Blue Jackets collapsed in the third vs. the Edmonton Oilers on Friday night. Edmonton netted three goals in the first eight minutes of the final period to go up 4-2 on the Blue Jackets en route to a 6-3 final.

Columbus stopped the bleeding and finally answered the three goals with a goal of their own around the 11-minute mark to cut the deficit to a goal. However, Edmonton put the puck in twice more in the final four-plus minutes to close out the win.

Edmonton's Ryan Jones completed a hat trick with an empty netter as time was winding down. Blue Jackets' right winger Derek Dorsett scored twice, including an impressive short handed goal in the second period. Devan Dubnyk made 36 saves for the Oilers, 20 of them coming in the first period.

The Blue Jackets, who sit in dead last in the NHL with 17 points, are back on the ice on Tuesday against the Montreal Canadiens
