Blue Jackets Vs. Blackhawks Final Score: Columbus Loses Todd Richards' Debut, 5-2

With the recent firing of former head coach Scott Arniel, the Columbus Blue Jackets issued in a new era on Tuesday night. Todd Richards coached his first game as the Blue Jackets' interim head coach, which also happened to be his first loss as Blue Jackets' interim head coach -- the Central Division's second place Chicago Blackhawks greeted him rather rudely, drubbing his team, 5-2.

The Blue Jackets actually outshot the Blackhawks 34-25, but the Blackhawks made their shots count with two goals in the second period and another three in the third.

Blue Jackets goalie Curtis Sanford gave up four goals on 24 shots and Chicago added their fifth on an empty netter at the 18:20 mark.

The NHL worst Columbus will try to give Richards his first NHL win on Friday when the Blue Jackets play the Coyotes, who will be in town after playing the night before in Detroit.
