The Columbus Blue Jackets are in the midst of yet another rough stretch during the 2011-12 NHL season. Columbus has lost seven of its past eight games and tonight they start a west coast road swing that begins in San Jose. The Sharks are currently the leaders in the Pacific Division with 46 points, but the Blue Jackets find themselves way off the playoff pace with only 25 points. The current cutoff is 45 points for the eighth and final playoff spot out of the west.

As it has been for much for much of the season goal scoring has been an issue for Columbus. They have scored two goals or less in each of their past three losses. Columbus ranks 26th in the NHL in goals scored at 2.4 per game and they are 27th in goals against. The Blue Jackets give up 3.3 points per game.

Tonight's puck drops at 10:30 p.m. ET.
