Blue Jackets Vs. Ducks: Columbus Looks To Move Out Of The Cellar Against Anaheim

For more on the Blue Jackets, check out The Cannon.

The Columbus Blue Jackets are back in action on Sunday evening when they take on the Anaheim Ducks to complete their California trip.

After gutting out a 1-0 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday, the Blue Jackets will look to build a little momentum before heading to Chicago for their next game on Tuesday. Winning two games in a row amounts to a momentum shift for Columbus since they haven't been able to string two wins together since beating Nashville and Calgary in mid-November.

Columbus can also push Anaheim to the bottom of the standing in the Western Conference with a win tonight. While the Ducks have had their share of struggles this season, the also won their last game over the New York Islander 4-2 on Friday night.

Columbus will need to come up with similar effort to last night to secure another win which included some surprisingly strong play, as The Cannon explains.

The Jackets got stellar goaltending from Curtis Sanford yesterday against LA, and also got some tremendous penalty killing. I'll give you a moment to clean up the beverage you no doubt spit-taked out of your mouth as you read that. 8-for-8 (against the woeful 30th PP unit in the league, to be fair). The Jackets were blocking shots like mad men.
