The Columbus Blue Jackets hosted the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday, picking up a 3-1 victory. On Saturday night, the two teams will meet in Minnesota to complete the home-and-home series this week.
Columbus' David Savard scored his first career goal in the victory while Antoine Vermette and Jeff Carter netted the other goals. Nate Prosser scored the Wild's lone goal, but Curtis Sanford made 29 other saves to pick up the victory.
However, Columbus dropped a 4-2 decision on Thursday to the Dallas Stars. That loss now has the Blue Jackets as losers in seven of their last nine games. The win over the Wild was the back end of back-to-back wins.
Minnesota, meanwhile, enters this contest as losers in four of their last five games. That lone win, 1-0, came against the Colorado Avalanche on Feb. 2. The Wild hold a 2-1 season-series advantage over the Blue Jackets entering this game.
