The Colorado Avalanche had a fantastic win against the Los Angeles Kings to boost both their confidence and their playoff standings back on Wednesday. This could spell trouble for the Columbus Blue Jackets, who are still looking for their identity as they falter through a terrible season.
This will be the first game for the Jackets since they shipped Jeff Carter off to the Kings, knocking a cog out of their offense, but have a great new defensive player in Jack Johnson who will help shore them up in the back. Johnson already played the Avalanche this week during their 4-1 win over the Kings. Carter had a hat trick in his final game as a Blue Jacket.
Colorado has always dominated the Blue Jackets since the team was founded, so the Blue Jackets will, as always, have a mountain to climb if they want to get the home win in their first game after losing Jeff Carter. Colorado is 8-1-0 against Columbus since 2009.
The game will be at Nationwide Arena at 7 PM ET.
