Blue Jackets Vs. Avalanche: Columbus Looks To Avenge 5-0 Drubbing

It wasn't pretty the last time Columbus and Colorado hooked up. But Columbus can exact some revenge Thursday when they take on the surging Avalanche in Denver.

The Columbus Blue Jackets will hope for a better result this time around when they take on the Colorado Avalanche.

The Blue Jackets, currently riding a three-game losing streak, were blasted by the Avs last Friday in Columbus. Colorado recorded a 5-0 shutout and never let off the gas, scoring three goals in the final period.

Columbus, 18-38-7, could exact plenty of revenge simply by winning. Colorado, 33-27-4, is in a heated playoff race. The Avs are currently the No. 9 seed in the West with 70 points, just one point behind No. 8 Dallas.

Rick Nash, who had been the focal point of much trade talk, scored his 22nd goal of the season in Columbus' last game, a 5-2 loss to Detroit.

Colorado has won four in a row and could tie a season-high by winning its fifth straight.

The game starts at 9 p.m. ET and will air on Fox Sports Ohio.
