Blues Vs. Blue Jackets: Columbus Tries For Third Straight Win Against St. Louis

Blue Jackets head into final week of the season.

The Columbus Blue Jackets face the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night which will put their current two-game winning streak to a test.

St. Louis takes on Columbus with the top record in the Western Conference looking to close out the regular season next week in strong fashion to maintain home ice advantage in the playoffs. The Blues have stumbled a bit of late, losing their last game in overtime to Chicago which was their third loss in the last five games.

While the Blues have plenty to play for as they look ahead to the playoffs, Columbus continues playing for pride through a tough season. But Columbus has won their last two games and as The Cannon points out, the Blue Jackets have fared well in the roll of spoiler.

The Jackets have passed two milestones, eclipsing the previous franchise lows for wins and points. They've relished the spoiler role, making things harder on any of the following teams: Colorado, Detroit, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Jose, Calgary, Carolina, and Florida. While they can't affect the Blues' ability to make the playoffs tonight, they can prolong the "clinching" drive just a little bit if they can go into St. Louis and steal a win.

The game begins at 8:00 p.m. ET and will be televised on Fox Sports Ohio.
