Blue Jackets Vs. Coyotes: Columbus Going For Its First Three-Game Winning Streak Of The Season

Columbus isn't going to make a playoff push, but the Blue Jackets could still win their third straight game for the first time all season.

The Columbus Blue Jackets will try to make it three straight wins for the first time all season when they host the Phoenix Coyotes on Tuesday.

Columbus beat Colorado and Phoenix in back-to-back road games last Thursday and Saturday, downing the Avalanche 2-0 and the Coyotes 5-2. The wins moved Columbus to 20-38-7 and gave them 47 points, nine shy of Edmonton with 17 games to play.

Rick Nash had two goals and an assist in Saturday's win over Phoenix. On the season Nash has 24 goals and 23 assists.

The Coyotes come to down desperate for a win. They are seventh place in the West with 75 points, two ahead of eighth-place San Jose and just three points ahead of the ninth- and 10th-place teams, Los Angeles and Colorado.

The Blue Jackets have twice had two-game winning streaks but have yet to make it three.
