Riding their first three-game winning streak of the season, the Columbus Blue Jackets will host the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday.
More: Game preview of Jackets vs. Kings
Columbus started the winning streak at Colorado before taking both games of a home-and-home with Phoenix. The Blue Jackets have scored 10 goals during the streak, and that after scoring just four total during the three-game losing streak that preceded.
The Kings are riding their own three-game winning streak, scoring 13 goals over that span. On the season L.A. is 29th in the league in scoring but has come alive of late.
L.A. is part of the Western Conference logjam trying to finagle its way into the playoffs. The No. 9 Kings have 74 points, tied with No. 8 San Jose (the Sharks have played one fewer game, so they own the eight spot). No. 7 Phoenix has 75 points, while No. 10 Colorado has 74 and No. 11 Calgary has 72. All told, three points separate five teams - and L.A. is smack-dab in the middle.
