BCS Standings Have Oregon, Auburn At The Top

For the first time this season, the BCS Standings remained the same at the top following an upset-laden weekend in college football. The upsets just didn’t involve the top four teams.

Oregon, Auburn, TCU and Boise St. all won big and remained in the top spots in the standings. Perhaps the biggest news to come out of the top group was the statement made by TCU in their crushing win over Utah. TCU was number 3 in the BCS in the past, but the human polls still had Boise St. ahead of them. Not any more.

TCU actually gained ground on Boise State and even closed the gap on Auburn and Oregon. That means the Horned Frogs are likely in a good position should one of the top-2 teams falter. Boise State, on the other hand, actually lost ground to #5 LSU meaning the Broncos could be in big trouble – at least in terms of the BCS.

As for the idle Buckeyes, as expected they came in at #9. Needless to say Ohio state has some work to do – and help to get – if they are going back to a BCS bowl in 2010.
