All of a sudden, the Buckeyes 18-point halftime lead is down to just 8 points after Arkansas’s defense provided the Razorbacks with a safety.
On first and ten for the Buckeyes at their own four, Dan Herron was driven back into the endzone for a safety. While forward progress for Herron was the 2-yard line, he actually broke the initial tackle in the end-zone – tried to escape – and was eventually brought down. By disengaging with the first defender, forward progress is nullified and the safety stood.
Momentum has clearly shifted from Ohio St. to Arkansas, largely based on awfully conservative play-calling by the Buckeyes.
