It is the first day of the early signing period for college basketball, and it is likely going to be a quiet one for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Despite having one of the highest rated classes in the country the past few years, the Buckeyes currently do not have any commitments for the class of 2012.
A big reason for that stems from Ohio State's current scholarship situation. Currently, the Buckeyes have only one open spot for the class of 2012. That number could change with Jared Sullinger and possibly Deshaun Thomas looking toward the NBA after the 2011-12 season, but their decisions will keep the Buckeyes in flux throughout the season.
The Buckeyes do already have a commitment for the class of 2013 that can sign at this time next year. Marc Loving, a 4-star 6'7" power forward from Toledo has already agreed to sign with the Buckeyes for 2013.
