Cleveland State got an early start to Horizon League play with a close 45-43 win over Wright State Thursday night, and Saturday they have a chance to move to 2-0 in league play when the Vikings travel to Detroit. The Titans were expected to one of the major contenders in the Horizon League this season, but they have gotten off to a slow 3-5 start. One of those losses was an opening conference loss to Youngstown State earlier this week. Cleveland State is already 7-1 and is looking to build a solid NCAA at large profile as a backup in case they don't win the Horizon League Tournament later in the year.
The Ohio State Buckeyes, after a convincing victory over Duke in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, should have a relatively easy game Saturday at noon against Texas-Pan American. The Broncs are one of the lowest rated Division I teams in the country and are only 2-6 on the year. Fellow Big Ten member Northwestern already easily defeated UTPA 60-36 earlier in the year.
