The Associated Press Top 25 for the week of Dec. 5 is live, and the top spots once again receive a shakedown of sorts. Since last week, the Kentucky Wildcats have occupied the top spot, and that remains true this week, earning 47 first-place votes. Syracuse moved up into third place as the Duke Blue Devils took a fall after losing to the Buckeyes. North Carolina moves back up from fifth to fourth, though they did suffer their second loss of the season, it was to the first-place Wildcats, and only by one point. Louisville moves up into the top five.

Which means that the Ohio State Buckeyes remain in second place, and this week, they received 18 first-place votes. They moved into second after beating Duke 85-63, back when the Blue Devils were ranked third. Ohio State trails Kentucky by just 31 points in the rankings. Cleveland State also received votes, and had nine points.
