2011 Big Ten Tournament Bracket: Indiana's Comeback Falls Short, Penn State Prevails 61-55

The Penn State Nittany Lions have beaten the Indiana Hoosiers and will advance to the second round of the Big Ten tournament.

Penn State was led by their rebounding (out-rebounded the Hoosiers 28-19) and a scoring performance by Jeff Brooks, who scored 15 points for the Lions. Brooks was joined by two other teammates in the double digit scoring department, but Penn State won despite their own mistakes.

11 turnovers and 11 of 20 shooting from the free throw line is not exactly how you make a statement, but the important thing to note here is that Penn State will live to play another day.

Indiana was led by their top scorer Christian Watford, who had 15 points and did all he could to keep the underdog Hoosiers alive. In the end, he just didn’t have enough help from his teammates, as he was the only Indiana player in double digits.

Penn State will move on to the second round and take on the Wisconsin Badgers.
