NCAA Basketball Tournament Scores: West Virginia, Clemson Tied At 40

The Clemson Tigers dominated the first 18 minutes of their game with the West Virginia Mountaineers.  They play 20 minute halves in college basketball, however, and West Virginia took advantage of the two minutes Clemson played poorly.  Using a 9-0 run over the final few minutes of the first half, the Mountaineers tied the Tigers at halftime 40-40.

Clemson already has three players in double figures led by Jerai Grant and Demontez Stitt with 11 points each.  Andre Young added 10 for the Tigers.

West Virginia is led by Kevin Jones who has 11, including 3-4 from three-point range.  The Mountaineers have shot 54.2% from the field, including 4-9 from deep while going a perfect 10-10 from the line.

Clemson shot 46.4% from the field in the first half while shooting 11-14 from the line.  West Virginia has been hampered by 7 first half turnovers.

One has to wonder about Clemson's endurance after playing a game less than 36 hours ago followed by a flight and early arrival in Tampa.
