Things got a bit interesting for the Louisville Cardinals early in their 2nd Round game against Morehead St. The Eagles scored the first 8 points of the game and led 15-5 at one point before the Cardinal got into the flow of their offense, rallying to game at 33.Terrance Hill led the Eagles with 10 points and 6 rebounds while Kenneth Faried, the NCAA’s all-time rebound king, had 7 points and 9 rebounds. Morehead State started hot but trailed off, shooting 36.4% from the field.
Chris Smith scored 8 points for the Cardinal who shot 41.4%
Down 15-5, Louisville made a slow, methodical run to get back into the game. The Cardinal actually took the lead at 33-30 after a Kyle Kurec three ball, but Morehead buried a three of their own at the buzzer to tie the game.
The two teams combined to commit 21 turnovers in the first half while Morehead State held a 21-17 rebound advantage.
