Gator Bowl 2012 Score Update: Miscues Have Buckeyes Trailing 24-10

Trailing 14-10 heading into the half, the Ohio State Buckeyes received the opening kickoff, and started to drive pretty well. They moved from their own 20-yard line into Florida territory, but after a sack on 3rd and 10, the team was forced to punt. Unfortunately for them, the punt was blocked by Chris Rainey and Graham Stewart, and was taken into the endzone for a Florida touchdown, bringing the game to 21-10 in favor of Florida.

The remainder of the third quarter was full of mistakes. The Buckeyes took over again, and were able to pick up a couple first downs, but once again were forced to punt after nearing Florida territory. They pinned Florida down at the nine-yard line, and the pressure forced the Gators into making a mistake. After a couple rushes and a pair of first downs, John Brantley had a pass intercepted by Tyler Moeller, so the Buckeyes took over in Florida territory.

They were unable to take advantage of the good field position, though, as Braxton Miller hit DeVier Posey on third down, who fumbled the ball and gave the ball right back to Florida. The Gators started driving and got the ball into the red zone as the quarter came to an end. They settled for a field goal at the start of the fourth and took a 24-10 lead.
