The Ohio State Buckeyes and Penn State Nittany Lions sit on opposite ends of the Big Ten standings. And it could not have been much more obvious on Wednesday night, as the Buckeyes took down the Nittany Lions 78-54 at Value City Arena in Columbus.
Jared Sullinger was his usual dominant self, scoring 20 points on 7-11 shooting from the field along with 13 rebounds. William Buford added 15 points and 9 rebounds.
With the win, Ohio State (17-3, 6-2 in Big Ten) moves into a share of the conference lead with the Michigan Wolverines (16-5, 6-2 in Big Ten). Meanwhile, Penn State (10-12, 2-7 in Big Ten) falls alone into last place in the conference.
The win sets the stage for a showdown between the Buckeyes and Wolverines in a battle for Big Ten supremacy on Sunday in a game that is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. eastern.
