The ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll is out for the week of Jan. 9, and the shakeups in the top ten continue. The top two spots remain unchanged, though, as undefeated Syracuse sits at No. 1 with a 17-0 record, while the Kentucky Wildcats remain at No. 2 with a first-place vote and a 15-1 record. Duke fell out of the top five, going down three spots to No. 6, while North Carolina and Baylor both moved up to occupy No. 3 and No. 4. Baylor sits undefeated at 15-0 on the season.
That puts the Ohio State Buckeyes back in the top five, after picking up two solid wins following their second loss of the season - which was a whole year ago now! OSU had previously lost to the Indiana Hoosiers on Dec. 31, and dropped accordingly. Two very dominating wins over Nebraska and Iowa has put them back inside the top five, and a rematch with Indiana on Jan. 15 looms ahead.
Before that, the Buckeyes will take on Illinois on Jan. 10.
