The Ohio State Buckeyes pulled off an incredible comeback win on Saturday, staying undefeated with a victory in overtime against Purdue. But Urban Meyer was forced to use back-up quarterback Kenny Guiton to finish the game, as Braxton Miller sustained an apparent head injury in the second half. Miller was slammed down to the turf by Purdue cornerback Josh Johnson. An animated gif of the play, courtesy of SB Nation's Ohio State blog, Land-Grant Holy Land:
There was widespread and diverse speculation about the type of injury Miller suffered, with some stating it was a likely collarbone injury. Dave Biddle of 97.1 The Fan reported it as a head injury.
Shortly after Miller was taken to the locker room on a cart, he was seen being loaded into an ambulance to be transported to the Wexner Medical Center at Ohio State. Guiton came on a led the miraculous comeback, tying the game up with three seconds remaining.
After the game Urban Meyer did not have any further details on Miller's injury. We'll update as soon as more information becomes available.
