Ohio State vs. Penn State score update: Buckeyes and Nittany Lions scoreless after first

Ohio State and Penn State are scoreless through the first quarter as the two teams combined to punt six times in the opening frame.

Ohio State had the ball four times while Penn State had three offensive possessions in the first quarter, but neither team penetrated the red zone or threatened to score.

Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller returned after missing the conclusion of last week's win over Purdue due to a head injury and was 4-of-10 passing for 45 yards while rushing five times for 12 yards in the first quarter.

Penn State managed 37 yards of total offense with two first downs on 13 snaps in the first quarter. Ohio State had four first downs and 75 yards of total offense to open the game.

Both Ohio State and Penn State are undefeated in conference play season and sit atop the Leaders division standings in the Big 10 but both are ineligible for post-season play due to NCAA sanctions.
