The Ohio State Buckeyes picked a pretty bad time to start losing games in the Big Ten. Once the outright holders of the conference, three losses in their last six games including a 63-60 drop to Wisconsin in their last match have put them down into a tie for second place with the Michigan Wolverines. The Michigan State Spartans are a full two games ahead of Ohio State with two to play, and have the advantage of being at home when they play Ohio State in the last game of the season.
They can't afford to put too much thought into the March 4 affair with Michigan State though, they need to win out if they want to get even a share of the Big Ten title. Their challenge before getting to the Spartans will be a game against the Northwestern Wildcats on Wednesday at 8:30 PM Eastern Time. If they can take a victory from the Cats at home, they can worry about getting a share of the spoils.
The season got a bit more interesting -- but not in a good way -- for the Akron Zips when they lost to Ohio. Though they've already have clinched a share of the spoils in the MAC being two games ahead of everyone else, there's a chance if Ohio win out and they lose out that the Bobcats will get a chunk of the MAC East as well. Unlikely, but not unheard of. The Zips can clinch the division outright when they play the Buffalo Bulls on Wednesday at 7 PM ET.
Cleveland State have finished their season, with two straight wins putting them in second place of the Horizon Conference at season's end.
