After landing a No. 13 seed in the 2012 NCAA Tournament, the Ohio Bobcats will be playing 4th-seeded Michigan to kick things off in their first game of the tournament. The Bobcats received an automatic invitation to this years NCAA tournament after winning the Mid-American Conference Tournament championship.
During the regular season the Ohio Bobcats finished 3rd in the Eastern division of the MAC which earned the Bobcats the No. 3 seed in the MAC tournament. In the championship game the Bobcats knocked off top seeded Akron. Without that win Ohio is not in the tournament, but with a great run the Bobcats cap off a solid regular season and now have an opportunity to make a memory in NCAA tournament.
Ohio now prepares to face 4th-seeded Michigan, an at large selection from the Big 10. Michigan is a program that has been building in recent years and made it over the hump finishing tied for 1st in the Big 10 conference during the regular season.
The Wolverines have wins over No. 1 seeded Michigan State and No 2 seeded Ohio State during the regular season and fell to Ohio State in the Big 10 semifinals.
