NCAA Tournament Bracket 2012: Ohio Bobcats Could Face Temple, California Or South Florida In Third Round

After a solid regular season, the Ohio Bobcats still needed a title run in the MAC Conference Tournament to land a bid to the NCAA tournament. Having done that, Ohio landed the No. 13 seed in the Midwest region for this year's NCAA Tournament. Ohio is the lone representative for the Mid-American Conference.

Besides the uphill battle of being a No. 13 seed, the Midwest region has more than its share of talented teams that could pose problems for this Ohio team. In their first game of the tournament, the Bobcats will need to get past 4th-seeded Michigan, a team that finished tied for 1st in the Big 10 during the regular season.

In the third round the Bobcats are looking at a potential matchup with a pair of bubble teams or one solid Atlantic 10 opponent. Temple is the No. 5 seed after winning the Atlantic 10 which has been one of the strongest mid major conferences this season. Temple will face the winner of South Florida and California, two at large bubble teams that squeaked into the tournament.

If the Bobcats have some success early in the tournament, they could eventually face the likes of North Carolina, Kansas or Georgetown, the region's top-three seeds, in later rounds.
