The Cleveland St. Vikings are headed to the postseason despite losing in the Horizon League Tournament in the semifinals. The Vikings earned a No. 6 seed to the NIT, and they will play at Stanford on Tuesday night at 11pm. the game will be televised by ESPN2, and the Cardinal carries a 21-11 record into the game.
Stanford had a sub-par record this season in a very weak Pac-12 conference, finishing just 10-8 in the league. The Vikings have hope for a victory as well. Butler, a fellow Horizon League member, beat the Cardinal in Maples Pavillion 71-66 on December 21. That was one of just two non-conference losses by Stanford,t he other coming at the hands of Syracuse.
Stanford does not come into the NIT with much momentum. They were just 6-8 int heir last 14 games, while Cleveland State also struggled by losing six of its past eight to fall out of the Horizon League race.
