The Ohio State Buckeyes continue to swap up their coaching staff as they head towards the 2012 season, picking up a new defensive backs coach in former Cincinnati Bearcats associate head coach/DB coach Kerry Coombs. The move was confirmed by Cincinnati coach Butch Jones on Thursday.

Coombs had originally joined the Bearcats back in 2006 under Bryan Kelly, and prior to that held a long time coaching gig with Colerain High School for 16 years, in which he took them to the playoffs ten times. The move to being just a DB coach is a downgrade for Kerry after an associate head coaching job, but it's a move to a much bigger class of school under Urban Meyer at OSU.

There's no word yet on who the Bearcats have lined up to replace Coombs, but there's certain to be plenty of suitors for the job at an up and coming football school.
