The No. 10 Ohio State Buckeyes (24-6, 12-5) make a last-ditch effort to grab a share of the Big Ten regular-season championship when they visit the No. 5 Michigan State Spartans (24-6, 13-4) on Sunday afternoon at the Breslin Center.
The Big Ten-leading Spartans stumbled earlier in the week losing their last game at Indiana 70-55 to snap a seven-game winning streak. Meanwhile Ohio State avoided disaster on the road by holding on to beat Northwestern to set up a meaningful Big Ten finale in East Lansing.
Michigan State will honor senior Draymond Green on Senior Day as Green tries to not only lead his team to sole possession of the Big Ten title but also wrap up Big Ten Player of the Year honors by beating the Buckeyes and their leading man, Jared Sullinger.
Even if Sullinger and the Buckeyes spoil the party and win, Michigan State will maintain a share of the Big Ten championship and still have the No. 1 seed in the Big Ten tournament next week in Indianapolis. Also, the Buckeyes would still need Michigan to lose at Penn State on Sunday to earn the No. 2 seed in the tournament.
The game is scheduled to tip off at 4:00 p.m. ET and will be televised on CBS.
