The Ohio St. Buckeyes may not be able to reach the postseason this year, but they've still got a great roster that's looking to do as much damage as possible where it can. Multiple players have been added to multiple award watch lists, and there's a couple more to add to on Monday. The watch list for the Butkus Award came out, and there's one representative from Ohio State in Etienne Sabino.
The Butkus Award is given to the top linebackers in the nation who signify this trait on the field and also contribute to their community. It is voted on by a panel that includes many expert scouts. On top of this award, the Lombardi Watchlist came out on Monday as well, and there's even more representation from Ohio State there.
Defensive tackle Johnathan Hankins, defensive end John Simon and tight end Jake Stoneburner are all nominated for the Lombardi Award. It's an award traditionally given out to the top defensive or offensive linemen in college football. Stoneburner is on the list due to his time spent on the offensive line as a tight end.
