Ohio State vs. Michigan State score: Buckeyes, Spartans find end zone in 3rd

After a slow first half, the Ohio St. Buckeyes and Michigan St. Spartans have both picked things up in the second.

No. 14 Ohio St. holds a 17-13 lead over the Spartans heading into the fourth quarter, after both teams managed to put up 10 points in the third. Andrew Maxwell managed a 29-yard touchdown to Keith Mumphery to give Michigan St. a 13-10 lead, but Braxton Miller one-upped him with a 63-yard strike to Devin Smith that went for 6.

Michigan St. managed an impressive 50-yard field goal from Dan Conroy on their first possession of the second half to make it 7-6. That drive was helped along by a defensive holding call on Ohio St., and a 35-yard reception by Bennie Fowler from Maxwell. The Buckeyes answered back with a 13-play, 66-yard drive that ended in a Drew Basil field goal from 26 yards out.

Maxwell is out-gunning Miller, with 237 yards and a touchdown, though Miller has added 98 yards on the ground to his 157 yards through the air. If Michigan St. manages to lose this one, it will likely come down to the stat line of running back Le'Veon Bell, who has carried 13 times for just 35 yards heading into the fourth quarter.
