Buckeyes QB Terrelle Pryor was named Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against Indiana this past Saturday. Pryor was 24/30 for 334 yards and 3 touchdowns against the Hoosiers which was easily his best performance of the season.

Pryor shared the honor with Wisconsin RB John Clay. Clay tied a career high with three rushing touchdowns while gaining 111 yards on 21 carries in a 41-23 victory over Minnesota.

The Buckeyes play the Badgers this Saturday night at Camp Randall Stadium.

Offensive Grade: A

The passing game was excellent, with Terrelle Pryor setting a career record in yards with 334, before leaving the game midway through the third quarter. Pryor also added three touchdown passes and an 80% completion percentage (24/30.) It was an excellent bounce-back day for the junior quarterback, after struggling last week against Illinois. He involved eight different receivers, with fellow junior DeVier Posey leading the group with eight catches for 103 yards.

An average day rushing the ball is the only thing keeping this grade from being an A+. With Pryor only rushing the ball three times, the tailbacks were the main feature of the running game. Dan "Boom" Herron was the leading rusher, with 68 yards on 12 carries and two touchdowns. Herron busted a 39 yard touchdown run on the Buck's first drive, while popping another one in off of a direct snap later in the game. To be fair, the Buckeyes' rushing attack did not disappoint, but also did not excel.

Defensive Grade: A+

Simply dominant. Against Michigan the previous week, the Indiana offense put up 35 points and averaged 6.6 yards per play. This week, Indiana scored 10 points while averaging 3.24 yards per play. My fear of Indiana's passing attack taking advantage of a depleted Buckeye secondary was obviously misplaced. The Silver Bullets forced Ben Chappell into poor situations consistently, and Chappell folded consistently. And without leading rusher Darius Willis to provide any semblance of a running threat, the entire Indiana offense folded with him.

True freshman Christian Bryant stepped in ably after Tyler Moeller's season ending injury last weekend, and senior corner Devon Torrence had the first of three Ohio State interceptions on the day.

Special Teams Grade: B

Ohio State contained Indiana's return units well, while having solid returns of their own. Jaamal Berry averaged 27 yards on his kickoff returns, with a long of 29. And, again, first year punter Ben Buchanan showed marked progress from his early season struggles, averaging 50 yards over three punts.

Senior placekicker Devin Barclay went 1/1 on field goal tries, with true freshman Drew Basil suffering an ugly block on his 53 yard attempt late in the second quarter. This is the second long field goal attempt of Basil's that has been blocked on the season, with the first coming against Marshall. Kicking from a long distance is different than short attempts, as the kicked must be more aware of distance, and a greater leg drive required to hit that distance. As such, you often get lower kicks that are easy targets to be blocked.

Player of the Game: Terrelle Pryor

A career day should always be enough to warrant player of the game status, and it certainly is today. Pryor was excellent passing the ball, and with Denard Robinson's stumble against Michigan State, he may have moved ahead of the Michigan quarterback in the Heisman derby.

Columbus, OH (Sports Network) – Terrelle Pryor threw three first-half touchdowns, and second-ranked Ohio State rolled to a 38-10 victory over Indiana.

Pryor had a career-high 334 yards on 24-of-30 efficiency in just over three quarters of play. Daniel Herron ran for a pair of touchdowns for the Buckeyes (6-0, 2-0 Big Ten), who have won 12 straight games dating back to last season.

Head coach Jim Tressel earned his 100th career win at Ohio State.

Ben Chappell completed 16-of-26 passes for 106 yards with two interceptions for the Hoosiers (3-2, 0-2), who have dropped consecutive games after starting the season with wins over Towson, Western Kentucky and Akron. Indiana lost a shootout with nationally-ranked Michigan last week, as Heisman hopeful Denard Robinson ran for the winning touchdown in the waning moments of the fourth quarter.

Chappell set a school-record with 480 passing yards while also breaking the program’s marks for attempts (64) and completions (45) in the loss to the Wolverines.

1. The quad of Terrelle Pryor. Perhaps no singular body part has been scrutinized more in Ohio over the past week than the quadriceps of junior quarterback Terrelle Pryor. After injuring it early in the third quarter last weekend against Illinois, Pryor missed three offensive series and played gingerly on it for the rest of the game. The official news from Ohio State was nebulous early in the week, but recent reports have indicated that he will play without restriction this Saturday. What that means, exactly, is still unclear, but you do not need a doctor to know that Ohio State’s offensive fortunes are inextricably tied to Terrelle Pryor’s good health.

2. Will Jordan Hall ball? Or, more aptly, will he get the ball? Brandon Saine has struggled the past two games, and Dan “Boom” Herron lacks the burst to break long runs. Jim Tressel has made positive statements about Jordan Hall’s ability, even as recently as this week, so it would not be surprising to see the true sophomore become a larger part of the Ohio State offense as the season progresses. In brief time last season, Hall averaged 5.17 yards per carry on 48 carries. I’ll caution small sample size here, but that number is better than both Saine and Herron’s yards per carry stat this year.

3. Indiana’s Pass Attack. We profiled the Indiana offense at Along the Olentangy, and if you want more information, feel free to head over there to read up on it and ask questions. But for the purpose of a quick primer, all you need to know is this: Ohio State’s secondary has been ravaged by injuries, and the latest one to Tyler Moeller leaves them with true freshman Christian Bryant starting at the integral “Star” position. He will be on the field often against Indiana, which has the 4th ranked passing offense in the country.

4. Coach Jim Tressel’s 100th victory. Sitting at 99-21 in his career at Ohio State, Jim Tressel will be going for his 100th victory in his 122nd game with the Scarlet and Gray. With a victory against the Hoosiers on Saturday, Tressel will be the third quickest coach to reach 100 wins at a Big Ten school, and the quickest ever at Ohio State.

5. And a little self-indulgent history. Ohio State is 66-9-4 against Indiana all time, with Indiana’s last victory coming in 1988. It will have no direct impact upon Saturday’s game, but it is satisfying to revel in the historical dominance of our Midwestern brethren to the west.

(Sports Network) The second-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes put an 11-game win streak on the line this weekend in Columbus, as they welcome the Indiana Hoosiers to Ohio Stadium for Big Ten action.

Jim Tressel's Buckeyes have made it look easy at times this season, winning their first five games by double figures. Last weekend, the team opened its conference slate on the road at Illinois and came out of Champaign with a 24-13 victory. With a win this week, Tressel will become the third-fastest coach to win 100 games at a Big Ten school (121 games coached) behind only Michigan's Fielding Yost and Bo Schembechler.

Bill Lynch's Hoosiers would like nothing more than to prevent that milestone on their watch. Indiana has played extremely well in 2010, opening the year with three straight victories before suffering its only defeat last week in a shootout with nationally-ranked Michigan (42-35) in the Big Ten opener.

The series is lopsided in OSU's favor, with the Buckeyes holding a 66-12-5 all-time advantage. That mark includes the current 15-game win streak over the Hoosiers, who haven't beaten Ohio State since 1988.

The Hoosiers bring a dynamic offensive attack into Columbus, averaging almost 40 points per game (39.8) and over 450 yards of total offense. A good portion of that has come from the passing attack (fourth nationally at 348.2 ypg) fueled by the arm of QB Ben Chappell. The veteran signal-caller is coming off a game in which he set a school record with 45 completions, going for 480 yards, despite losing to the Wolverines. It has been a lot of the same on the season for Chappell, who has completed over 71 percent of his passes, for 1,370 yards, with 12 TDs and just one INT. The top receivers that have benefited the most from Chappell's strong play are Damarlo Belcher (31 catches, for 375 yards, three TDs), Terrance Turner (24 receptions, for 246 yards, one TD) and Tandon Doss (23 receptions, for 323 yards, one TD).

The ground game is an afterthought (106.8 ypg), but tailback Darius Willis (4.3 ypc, four TDs) keeps teams honest for the most part.

Last week, the Indiana defense was gashed by Heisman frontrunner Denard Robinson, but that is something every defense has fallen victim to this season. The team's inability to stop the run this year (207.0 ypg) is reason for concern, however. Opponents have also scored in 8-of-9 red zone chances, with six TDs. With just four sacks and five takeaways in the first four games, big plays have been a rarity.

Senior LB Tyler Replogle has been the top performer on the defensive side of the ball, pacing the Hoosiers in tackles (26), with one INT and one fumble recovery. Junior LBs Jeff Thomas (20 tackles) and Leon Beckum (20 tackles, one sack) are next in line in terms of stops.

The Hoosiers will be facing their second straight superior athlete under center in Ohio State's Terelle Pryor. Something that Bill Lynch is looking forward too.

"Obviously, Pryor is a great player like [Denard] Robinson, but different. In terms of the ability to beat you with his legs and his arms, and he is a good leader you can tell because his teammates really respond around him, plus he has a lot of good weapons with him. We are looking forward to the challenge, I know our players will. We will be ready to go at noon in Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday."

The Hoosiers will get their fair share of Pryor in this game, despite the athletic signal-caller nursing a quad injury. Pryor is the straw that stirs in the drink on the offensive side of things for OSU, which is averaging over 200 yards per game rushing (234.8) and passing (228.6). Pryor leads the way in both categories, averaging 74.6 yards per game on the ground (6.9 ypc), while throwing for 203.0 ypg. He has thrown 12 TD passes and rushed for an additional three scores. Dane Sanzenbacher has been the go-to-guy downfield, leading the way in receptions (23), receiving yards (351) and TD catches (six).

Pryor leads the ground game, but both RBs Dan Herron (4.4 ypc, five TDs) and Brandon Saine (4.2 ypc, two TDs) can get the job done as well.

While the OSU offense is obviously productive, the team feeds off its defensive play. Not much has changed in Columbus in 2010, as the Buckeyes are once again one of the top defensive teams in the country, allowing just 242.2 yards of total offense (fifth nationally), showing the ability to stop both the run (eighth nationally at 80.6 ypg) and the pass (18th nationally at 161.8 ypg). Big plays have been commonplace for this unit, with OSU forcing 14 turnovers thus far, including eight INTs.

Senior LB Ross Homan spearheads the attack. The 6-0, 227-pounder leads the team in tackles (33), with one sack, one INT, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Fellow LB Brian Rolle is next in terms of stops with 25. Senior safety Jermale Hines (21 tackles, one INT) is the top performer in the secondary, while ends Nathan Williams (18 tackles, 1.5 sacks, one INT) and Cameron Heyward (3.5 TFLs, one INT) present problems along the defensive front.

Coach Tressel knows the challenge that his defense faces this week in Indiana.

"Now we have a chance to come home, play against an Indiana team that they threw it 64 times last week, 98 plays, you know, those receivers are veterans. The quarterback, of course, is a veteran. Their running back does a nice job in protection, and the amount that they run him, he's very good at it and he's a good receiver as well."

The Hoosiers have moved the chains on everyone this season, but will be facing their toughest defense to date. It won't come so easy for Indiana on Saturday. Couple that with the fact that OSU will seemingly move the ball at will on the Hoosiers and it is shaping up to be another lopsided win for the Buckeyes.
