The Cleveland Cavaliers had a good opportunity to take down the 2-0 Pacers in Indiana, but rookie Kyrie Irving missed a wide open layup as time expired with the game tied 84-84.

The Pacers struggled with their shot all night (38-percent), but found new life after Irving's miss, outscoring the Cavs 14-7 in the five minute overtime period. Nine of those points came from Danny Granger, who finished with a game-high 22 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

The No. 1 overall pick from last year's draft, Irving, was the leader for the Cavs with 20 points on 8-of-19 shooting and three assists. Anderson Varejao had a double-double for Cleveland with 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Three different Pacers recorded double-doubles -- Roy Hibbert, David West, and Tyler Hansbrough -- and six players in all scored in double figures.

The Cava go back to Quicken to play the Nets on Sunday.

For more on the Cavaliers, visit SB Nation's Fear the Sword.

The Indiana Pacers had possibly the best offseasons in the abbreviated free agency period, and as a result they are off to a solid 2-0 start. Tonight they put that undefeated record on the line at home against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Cleveland has struggled so far, but their youth will be a major factor tonight, as Indy Cornrows points out in its solid preview of tonight's game at Banker's Life Fieldhouse:

With the Cleveland Cavaliers coming to town, the prospects of the Pacers' first 3-0 start in four years look as promising as ever. And, unlike its 07-08 predecessors, Indy may just have the staying power to spur the winning momentum onward. The Cavaliers--still recovering from the Summer of LeBron--present a roster thick on youth, inexperience, and hope for the future, but thin on developed and worthwhile talent to initiate a winning formula.

The Cavaliers come in off of a solid 105-89 win over Detroit on Wednesday night, and will try to get their second straight road win.
