In their last of six games against each other this season, the Nashville Predators closed out a nearly-perfect campaign (5-0-1) against the lowly Columbus Blue Jackets, who remain entrenched at the bottom of the NHL. Nashville's 4-1 win over the Blue Jackets on Monday night was their third in a row and their 11th in the last 13 games.

Nashville outshot the Blue Jackets 12-3 in the first period and took the lead on Mike Fisher's 10th goal of the season a little over eight minutes in. Columbus' red hot Rick Nash evened the score in a better second period for the Blue Jackets, but Fisher's second goal in the final minute of the period put the Predators back up. Nashville then scored twice unanswered in the third (on just five shots) to cap their second straight three goal win against the Blue Jackets in less than a week.

Columbus is 3-6-1 in their last ten games and play in Tampa Bay Tuesday night.

The Blue Jackets lost 3-0 to the Predators last Thursday and 4-1 on Monday night.

The Columbus Blue Jackets and Nashville Predators should be familiar with each other by now, since they last saw each other as recently as last Thursday. The Preds won that game 3-0 thanks to some wonderful goaltending by Pekka Rinne, who stopped 38 shots and stonewalled the Blue Jackets as Columbus lost yet another game in what is quickly becoming a lost season.

It will be even harder for Columbus to snag a win Monday night as the game will be in Nashville where the Preds have been great as of late. Even worse, Columbus have only won four of the last 19 matchups they've faced against the Predators and Nashville are on fire right now with ten wins in their last 12 games overall. Columbus at the very least do have a good thing in Rick Nash right now, as Nash has scored 7 points so far this season against Nashville.

Columbus are currently the worst team in the league with only 32 points and the same number of losses (28) as the Predators currently have wins. With the Preds still on fire and only a couple of points behind in the division, they'll probably be out for blood against the hapless Jackets tonight in Nashville.
