The Cleveland Indians have been one of the very worst teams in baseball since the All-Star break, struggling to a 15-and-41 record while scoring barely three runs a game over that stretch. As a result, some have wondered if manager Manny Acta's job is in question, but GM Chris Antonetti says that he'll address that when the season is completed.

"I don't feel any differently that when we talked earlier," Antonetti said. "I think I'll save any sort of assessments until the end of the season. I think that's probably the best thing to do. Obviously, we're all evaluated at the end of the year, myself included."

Acta is signed to be Cleveland's manager through the 2013 season, but the team has had disappointing finishes after sniffing playoff contention in each of the last two seasons.

Unable to keep his team afloat in the second half of the season after an epic collapse, Cleveland Indians manager Manny Acta looks to be firmly on the hot seat, according to a report by Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.

Despite an apparent vote of confidence from the team's ownership back in August, Heyman's source is indicating a significant amount of displeasure from both Larry and Paul Dolan over the team's lackluster play:

Even a couple weeks ago, just after that vote of confidence, which also covered GM Chris Antonetti and club president Mark Shapiro, a source said Indians ownership was "unhappy" with the Indians' second-half slide. Now, with the team 4-12 since the younger Dolan's vote of confidence, Acta's job security seems even less certain.

Only 21 games remain on the Indians' schedule, and the team currently sits in a tie with Minnesota for dead last in the American League Central. Considering how Acta's squad was a mere 1.5 games out of first place as recently as Jul. 1, it's awfully hard to say he belongs anywhere but the hot seat at the moment. Barring a miracle finish, the 43-year-old manager may just be in his final season with the Indians.

The Indians' CEO says that major changes for the front office and managerial position aren't coming this year.

Cleveland Indians CEO Paul Dolan insisted at a recent charity event that the team isn't planning to fire any combination of president Mark Shapiro, GM Chris Antonetti and manager Manny Acta, as Dennis Manoloff of The Plain Dealer writes. The Indians are in the midst of another disappointing season since the team's last run of success a few years ago.

Here's part of what Dolan said at the event in downtown Cleveland:

We all have a lot of work to do, but their jobs aren't at stake in this. As I sit here today, I have no intent to make any changes. I have to understand what's happened. I'm not going to have that understanding today. Hopefully, sometime in this off-season, we'll be able to assess and move from there.

At the moment, the Indians are 54-70 this season, good for fourth place in the AL Central. The team has lost 21 of its past 25 games, plummeting in the standings after initially starting the season with surprising success. Shapiro has been the key decision-maker in Cleveland for a long time now, so the organization is clearly giving him the benefit of the doubt.
